Help Required

Hello Paul,

There are lots of discussion going on the topic of debugging but not found anything from
where this can be started.

There is even a suggestion for developing a debugger expression evaluators, that seems difficult, but will give a try.

But incase I just need to have my own UI in which I can display variables values which is currently executing. Other than "debugger expression evaluators", is there any other solution for it ? Like some kind of events or interface from where we can get variable values.

Please help me in this.

I am waiting for your positive response.

Thanks in advance.

There's not really that much I can say that will help you. Developing a debugger for a compiled language is a very challenging task. Since Jurassic compiles to .NET the task of writing a debugger is basically writing a debugger for .NET. So maybe this will help: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/jmstall/archive/2004/10/05/237954.aspx

Thanks for your reply Paul.

I have further query, I have source code of SharpDevelop debugger and "https://mindbg.codeplex.com/" minidbg.

But how will I force these debugger to debug only dynamically generated .net assembly from Jurassic, not Jurassic code itself. May be I am asking wrong question as I dont have any experience in it. May be I am having wrong approach.

Totally confused.

Any suggestion ?

Hello Paul,

You said that it is possible for you to support the some sort of interface as Jint by raising an event after each line of code. This would slow things down significantly but would enable some pretty powerful scenarios.

Can you help me in this, especially with the local variable(ofcourse defined in function) because it is not getting generated at dynamic assembly, I dont know how it is handled ? I can see global variables in dynamic assembly but not local variables.

Please help me in implementing this.

I am waiting for you reply.

Thanks in advance.

I did it. Now Local Window is showing both global and local variables.
