'arguments' not a full functional array?

In a function I tried to call arguments.join(', '), which produces an error 'TypeError: arguments.join is not a function'. I thought 'arguments' is an array?

Is it necessary to copy every element from 'arguments' in a new array and then join this new array?

Yes. That is necessary. Arguments is not an Array in javascript, not just jurassic.
